My treasury box was preserved in a different environment than mine. It was prior to the oil era, when living conditions in Kuwait were much more austere than nowadays. The box was centered in a courtyard and surrounded by the mass around it, which is the opposite of my personality. It was much more natural and unified than I was. Being fed by local materials and flavored by pure traditional characteristics allowed it to function according to the dry climate around it. In addition, the enclosure of the treasury box and its neighbors did not cause severe harmful effects to the atmosphere. Everything was reused and that is why my treasury box was in a good condition. This was due to the harmony of the almost identical surroundings. Embracing the family treasure within me, which was transferred in 1970, was my tool to gather everyone around me by passing through the ferya(an internal passage between the three homes) from the left and the right houses. The connection allowed the family members to meet and commute together for both spontaneous and occasional gatherings outside the three villas. The intimacy within the family continued to remain a solid foundation throughout the years; even during the gulf war, where the community set up has been reinforced by exchanging the goods and general needs between the three homes. Today, my beloved treasury box and I belong to the memories of the past. I was grinded from top to bottom, along with my left and right neighbors, to be diffused with the sand beneath me. While my dear treasury box rested in peace beneath the earth’s surface. However, more treasures are present to continue the journey and combine the essential habits of the past with the present to offer more sustainable life for the wellbeing.
